Terms and conditions

Bookings are accepted on the explicit understanding that clients agree to our terms and conditions, as outlined in this document, also obtainable from the office.


1.      Indemnity:

a.      Whilst all reasonable care and precautions are taken to ensure your pet receives proper care during its stay, it is distinctly understood that no liability is incurred by the Proprietors in respect of any loss or damage to the animals through sickness, injury, escape, or from any cause whatsoever.


2.      Boarding and Payment Conditions:

a.      We reserve the right to refuse admission of animals that do not meet our criteria iro health and temperament requirements.

b.      We operate on a strictly cash in advance payment basis, and the full period booked is chargeable

c.      Prices quoted apply at time of writing and could be subject to change at any time.

d.      Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of your signed booking application form together with a non-refundable deposit.

e.      The full balance becomes due as instructed in your booking acceptance letter.

f.       If it is necessary to extend your booking while away, please note we have to be notified of these date changes, and this is subject to space being available

g.      Special rates or date changes may be allowed, at our discretion.

h.      Extras incurred while your pet stayed in the kennels will be charged to your account and must be settled at departure.

i.       Please note that bookings for 4 days or less will be charged at the minimum rate of R200 per booking. (see also j)

j.       There is a minimum booking fee of 7 days over Easter, Christmas and New Year and school holidays.

k.      Half day rates apply if your pet arrive after 14.00 pm, or depart before 12pm on the day of collection, on condition the times are specified at the time of booking. This is not applicable in the case of minimum rates.

l.       No refunds are due iro early (date) collections.


3.      Legal fees:

Should legal aid or other steps be required to recover outstanding debts, such costs will be for the account of the owner of relevant pets.


4.      Long term boarders: (i.e. 30 days plus) are accepted on the basis that a special long term boarding contact including  detailed payment terms is signed

a.      One month’s boarding is always payable in advance, starting 7 days prior to pets arriving and thereafter, 7 days prior to the conclusion of each month

b.      Failure to adhere to these terms will result in the immediate removal of the pets.

c.      Where owners will not be contactable during the period booked, the full amount is payable in advance.


5.      Cancellations and refunds:

a.      All dates booked are chargeable unless proper notice is given, such notice period will be specified at the time of the booking.

b.      Cancellation periods will vary depending on the season and advance notice period

                                                    i.     30 days over – Peak periods – [Christmas and Easter]

                                                   ii.     14 days – Other School holidays

                                                  iii.     7 days – other

c.      A cancellation fee applies iro all cancellations received less than 30 days prior to commencement of the booking.

d.      No refunds apply if less than 30 days’ notice is received.

e.      The Proprietor reserves the right to use discretion where extenuating circumstances apply.


6.      General:

a.      We strongly recommend that pets have a microchip inserted, wear a collar and name-tag with contact numbers.

b.      Viewings are welcome, by appointment during non-peak times, when it does not clash with kennel activities.

c.      Long term boarders may be visited by special arrangement only.

d.      Viewing and visits are not allowed during peak season.

e.      We strongly recommend that male pets over 6 months be neutered, and reserve the right to refuse admission if they are not.

f.       We provide all essential items required to make your pet comfortable. However you may supply extras, to be specified in writing, at your own risk, and on the clear understanding that no responsibility is accepted for damages or lost property.


7.      Health:

a.      General Health

                                                    i.     We cannot accept boarders that suffer from high risk health problems, are frail or obese.

                                                   ii.     If your pet suffers from a manageable health problem, requiring special care or medical attention, please ask your vet to provide full details of the condition and steps required to treat this condition.

                                                  iii.     Failure to disclose these conditions will lead to the immediate removal of your pet, at your own cost.

b.      Vaccinations

                                                    i.     No boarders will be accepted without up-to-date vaccination certificates iro all relevant diseases as outlined in our vaccination form obtainable from the office.

                                                   ii.     We will not accept your pet unless they have been vaccinated within the last 12 months.

                                                  iii.     Despite the fact that we insist on vaccinations, we are unable to detect a carrier entering our kennels. Please consult your vet as to what precautions can be taken against Kennel Cough and Snuffles.

c.      Medication and special diets.

                                                    i.     The proprietor has the right to seek veterinary advice for any boarder which develops signs of illness whilst boarded.

                                                   ii.     Any veterinary attention necessary while the animal is at the premises will be at the owner’s expense.

                                                  iii.     Medical attention or grooming will be given by the kennel staff if required by the owners, for a nominal predetermined charge.

                                                  iv.     Should pets require medication the owner must please provide these items in clearly marked containers with clear instructions.

                                                   v.     Should pets require special diets the owner must provide these items in clearly marked containers. Please note this does not affect the quoted daily rates.


8.      Fleas and Worms:

a.      All boarders are required to be flea-free and de-wormed.

b.      In the interest of all pet-owners we request that your pets are put on a reliable flea and de-worming programme, and that they are treated shortly before checking in.

c.      We reserve the right to do spot checks on boarders at arrival. Animals may remain in the quarantine area until we have confirmed that flea and worm treatment is up to date. Should steps have to be taken to rectify the matter, this will be for the owners’ account.

  Saturdays: 09h00 – 11h00 strictly by appointment.


A surcharge equal to a full day’s boarding will apply if service is required outside these times.
